A new tourist site: La Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin

Inaugurated in April 2024, La Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin is a fantastic new attraction in the heart of Villedieu-les-Poêles. This heritage centre, dedicated to the history of the town, is located in a former cinema with remarkable architecture.

The aim is to tell the story of the town, from its origins to the present day, exploring various themes such as copperwork, lace-making and the Knights of Malta. Six interactive exhibition spaces showcase the town’s rich architectural and cultural heritage through engaging museum collections.

Visitors can find out all about the history of this former commandery of the Order of Malta, the copper industry, lace-making expertise, the natural heritage of the river, Norman furniture, and modern heritage.
