Hippodrome de Graignes

The Hippodrome de Graignes, located in the center of Manche, welcomes you for more than 30 meetings and events all year long

The Hippodrome du vieux Château is located in the commune of Graignes-Mesnil-Angot in the Manche department. It is a trotting racecourse with a 1,034 m sand track, with left-hand rope.
It was founded in by Raymond Rigault (1910-2006), a former farmer. Passionate about horse racing, he organized in 1945 a race in the marshes of Graignes, in favor of prisoners returning from captivity. The racecourse gradually acquired a national reputation, hosting today 30 meetings per year. Graignes also owes him a school for lads and jockeys, opened in the early 1970s.
